About Us

Our Grandfather Leon William Seidl Sr. who was born in 1925 was our founder and his story begins as a young boy growing up in Houston, Texas.

As a child while working with our Great Grandfather Otto Seidl on elevators in downtown Houston he was injured on his lower left leg riding in an open elevator and his calf muscle was severely torn nearly off in the accident. In 1941 after the attack on Pearl Harbor, he like most young men wanted to go a fight for his country in World War II but he was not fit for combat which he always felt was unfair and unfortunate. Unable to fight he went to work at a local printing company when he was just 16 years old sweeping the floors at “The REIN Company” where he worked his way up to being a cutter operator by the age of 24. Later, he would join the “Web Printing Company” in Houston as the Bindery Supervisor and worked there until deciding to partner with Dan Wiley of “Wiley’s Bindery Service Inc.” in 1975. It wasn’t long before Bill Seidl came on board and the name changed to Seidl and Son Bindery on Oct 27th , 1975, to eventually become “The Seidl’s Bindery, Inc.” In 1991 Bill & Jeannie Seidl took over the business and ran it with great success until 2023 when their sons Mike and Matt Seidl stepped into managing the day-to-day operations.

Now moving forward as SEIDL BINDERY LLC & over 50 years in business and more than 40 years of industry experience between Mike & Matt with an incredible team behind them. They know it has taken a lot of hard work and many sacrifices accumulated over 3 generations to bring us to where we are today.
